FOREWARD:

The subjects of the magazine are a new developments and methodical approaches to the application of the technologies of Remote Sensing and geoinformation systems (GIS) in the field of environmental protection, thematic mapping, environmental design, land- and nature management.

The magazine is of interest of scientists and specialists in the field of Remote Sensing, GIS, ecology, geography and other natural sciences.

MAP PROJECTION — Orderly system of lines on a plane representing a corresponding system of imaginary lines on an adopted terrestrial or celestial datum surface. Also, the mathematical concept for such a system. For maps of the Earth, a projection consists of 1) a graticule of lines representing parallels of latitude and meridians of longitude or 2) a grid. DEPTH CURVE — Line on a map or chart connecting points of equal depth below the datum.
