CHARYNSKIY STATE NATIONAL NATURAL PARK

The technical and economic assessment of the territory expansion of the Charynskiy state national natural park is executed by the CRS and GIS «Terra», within the limits of the project «Working out of the natural-science and technical and economic assessment of the territory expansion of the Charynskiy state national natural park » in 2006. 

The Charynskiy State National Natural Park is located in the Ilyiskiy Intermountain Trough in the Uigur, Enbekshikazahskiy and Raimbekskiy districts of the Almaty region, on an area of 93 150 hectares, 250 km to the east from Almaty town. The area of the security zone is 32 000 ha.

           The project of the expansion of the territory of the Charynskiy State National Natural Park includes the joining of the lots in the delta of the Sharyn River, which are situated in the northeast part of the Ulken-Bogutys Massif, with the foothills in the borders of the Uigur district and a ground of the military unit (now it’s not active), which was given by the Ministry of Defense of the RK to the akimat of the Uigur district. As a whole, the expansion area is about 33900 hectares.

           The functional zoning of the Charynskiy SNNP has been executed in a complex for all the territory, taking into account the attached sites. In total, 4 functional zones have been allocated.

             The zone of the protected regime, that was allocated on the territory of the SNNP, includes the ashen forests in mountain hole of Sarytogaj , and also the foothills of the Ulken-Boguty Massif , where the biggest concentration of the population of a goitered gazelle is inhabited. The zone of the ecological stabilizing is allocated: in the valley of the Sharyn River, in mountain hole of Sarytogaj (for the protection of the forest complexes and fauna of this area), and also on the area of "Ulken-Boguty" ( for the protection of the territory that’s applied to the area of the springs- river heads). The zone of the tourist and recreational activity, and the zone of the limited economical activity are allocated on the sites of ”Ulken-Boguty”, of the delta of  the Sharyn River and in the existing territory of the national park.

 Besides, around of the Charynskiy SNNP, the security zone along the perimeter of the territory is established, for the protection from the influence of the external deleterious effect.

     As a result of the integrated assessment, that was carried out and the functional zoning, the planning structure of the national park was developed. The basic elements of the planning structure are the territories of the patrol areas and the infrastructure, that’s provides protection and scientific researches. The organization of 24 patrol areas is provided, which borders are established on the natural boundaries of the territory.

          Within the limits of the project, the structure and staff of the Charynskiy SNNP, were modified. It is offered to create the department of the ecological education and tourism, the department of the sanitary purification and the improvement of territory, the increase in staff of the department of the protection and reproduction of the natural complexes and objects, to increase the staff of the scientific experts, taking into account a specific character of the necessary scientific researches.

         For the creation of the infrastructure of the Charynskiy SNNP ,taking into account the expansion of its territory, is necessary to build 8 cordons with the utility structures; building of a visit-centre in the Ashen grove; the buyout of  the house for the organization of cordon; the organization of the palaeontological cut; the lining and installation of the engineering networks; the installation of the solar batteries; an installation of the wind engines; the electrification of the Charynskiy Canyon; the building of the cable railway; the building and equipping of the summer camp; the installing of 3 telephone lines in the central office in Shonzha settlement.

           Considering the necessity of the development of the ecological tourism, on the territory of the Charynskiy SNNP, the directions of the development of the ecological tourism are provided, the forms and kinds of the potential tourist activity are defined, the requirements to staff, for the ecological tourism on the SPNT are shown, a material security of the tourist routes is considered.

         For the period of the tourist season, it is planned the building of the camping site here (yurtas – the nomad's tents , cafés, water closets, shower cubicles) ,near to the bridge over the Sharyn River, on the highway Almaty-Shonzha. Here will be shown: the national cultural traditions of a life (a furniture of yurtas, houses, national crafts, an ethnic cuisine), of a culture (folklore, music, dances, national suits, souvenirs),of a sport (wrestling, horse races, etc.); the traditional stable nature management of this territory by the native population (cattle pasturing, cleaning of the springs and river banks ,etc.); everything will be shown both in the true to life variant, and in the form of films, exhibitions of photos, etc. Undoubtedly, it will lure the tourists here, and will promote the increase of the cultural level and the historical- ecological education of the youth.

           Within the limits of the given project, the complex of actions for the protection of ecosystems, air pool, water sources, the earths and a soil cover, flora and vegetation, fauna, is offered. The specificity and the general directions of the research activity are considered.  The measure and recommendations about the researches of flora and vegetation, fauna, the monitoring efforts, are developed.
